What's shipping. What's next. What's not.

This page is the real roadmap — not marketing copy. Every version below is either shipped, in active build, or honestly speculative. We update this page the same day we tag a release. If we change the order, we update this page first and explain why.

Version-by-version

1.0

1.0.1

V1.0.1 In build

June 2026 — first polish wave (~2 weeks post-launch)

Fixes and polish based on real review feedback. No new flagship features — just better.

  • iPad screenshot set + restore supportsTablet:true
  • App preview videos for iOS (conversion lift)
  • Performance tuning (cold-start, prayer-time calc cache)
  • Issues from V1 community feedback (we publish a known-issues list per release)
  • Multi-mini fact-check pass on Prophet narratives + Quran content
1.1

V1.1 — AI voice options Planned

August 2026

The first AI feature shipping into the app — and the one we've been most cautious about.

  • ElevenLabs-powered adhan voices (community choice — Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Abdulbasit Abdussamad, etc.)
  • Optional voice-guided morning & evening adhkar (audio companion mode)
  • Voice settings entirely on-device toggle. No transcripts, no inference, no audio sent off-device

Why later, not sooner: AI in religious contexts is high-stakes. We're shipping voice (a clean utility) before we ship anything that generates religious content. We will not generate fatwas, ayah explanations, or hadith with AI. Ever.

1.5

V1.5 — Tarawih tracker Planned

October 2026 — ahead of Ramadan 2027 (Feb 2027)

The biggest feature gap in the entire Islamic app category. No major app currently ships a real Tarawih tracker. We are.

  • Track Tarawih rakat across the 30 nights of Ramadan
  • Juz coverage map — see how much of the Quran your local masjid has recited
  • Personal khatm goal (complete Quran reading by Eid) — opt-in only
  • Iftar & Suhoor times integrated into prayer dashboard during Ramadan
  • Laylat-ul-Qadr tracker for the last 10 nights
1.7

V1.7 — Ramadan 2027 release Planned

February 2027 — sub-1 week before Ramadan starts

Ramadan-specific build with localized polish. We aim to ship the Ramadan version a week before, not during.

  • Ramadan Mode — full UI shift, daily 30-night content, zakat calculator
  • First three locales: Indonesian → Arabic → Urdu (Indonesia is the largest Muslim country; Arabic is foundational; Urdu unlocks the Pakistan + diaspora market)
  • Moon-cycle visual for the Hijri calendar
  • Community Iftar coordinator (opt-in, local-only — no central server)
2.0

V2.0 — Companion expansion Planned

Mid-2027

The platform expansion. We move beyond the phone.

  • Apple Watch app — prayer reminders, Qibla, tasbih on-wrist
  • Tasbih counter expansion + 33-cycle automation
  • 99 Names of Allah — full reflection mode
  • Mosque finder enhancement — community-verified vs OSM-only data quality split
  • Optional cloud sync (opt-in only, end-to-end encrypted, account-free via passkey)

Note on cloud sync: If we ever add it, it is opt-in only and the architecture stays "we cannot read your data." Every promise on the privacy page applies regardless of which version you're on.

AI features — what we will and won't do

We are deliberate about AI in a religious app. The line is simple: AI for utility, never for authority.

What AI does in Falah

Today: Ask Falah Q&A (Premium) is a curated library — every answer ships with citations from Bukhari, Muslim, or Riyad as-Salihin. The Q&A library is human-curated, not LLM-generated. We use AI to search the library when you ask a question, not to write the answers.

V1.1 (Aug 2026): Voice synthesis (ElevenLabs adhan + adhkar). Pure audio utility — no AI judgment about what you should hear, just better playback options.

V1.5+: AI-assisted personalization (Tarawih reminders adapted to your masjid's pace, Juz coverage suggestions). On-device only.

What AI will never do in Falah

We will never let a language model generate fatwas, hadith, ayah explanations, tafsir, or any religious ruling. There is no responsible way to do this with current AI — every model hallucinates, even on simple Quran citations. The category is full of apps doing this. We won't.

We will never use your prayer data, location, or app activity to train an AI model. We collect none of that data anyway, but stating it explicitly: there is no future version of Falah that becomes a training dataset.

We will never ship an AI feature without disclosing it on this page first. Roadmap before release.

The zakat commitment

A portion of subscription revenue from Falah is allocated as zakat to Muslim communities in Fiji. This commitment exists independently of the roadmap — every version of Falah, paid or free, contributes the same share when there is paid revenue. The full breakdown is on /transparency: how the percentage is calculated, where it lands, why we publish honest-but-not-audited numbers, and why none of it is tax-deductible.

Plain version

If Falah ships V2 with cloud sync and 10× the user base, the zakat share scales with revenue. The commitment is in the business model, not in the marketing. We chose Fiji because the founder's family is there and the relationships are direct — no intermediary charity, no NGO overhead, no opaque distribution chain.

How updates actually work

Suggest a feature

If there's something missing — a calculation method we don't support, a hadith collection you'd like cited, a community feature that would actually help — email hello@mykoala.com.au with "Roadmap" in the subject. We read everything. We do not promise to ship everything.

If your feature request is in the roadmap but at a later version than you'd like, tell us. We move things earlier when there's clear demand and the change doesn't compromise the privacy promise.

What's not on this page

Some things are deliberately absent:

If a future version of this page contains anything in the list above, that's the moment something has gone wrong. Open an issue.
