Manage your subscription

All Falah subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google. We don't process them directly, which means cancellation, refunds, and payment changes are handled in your phone's settings — not in Falah.

Cancel on iPhone & iPad

Takes about 30 seconds.

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find Falah and tap it
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Cancel on Android

Same idea, different menu.

  1. Open the Google Play store
  2. Tap your profile icon (top-right)
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions
  4. Tap Subscriptions, find Falah
  5. Tap Cancel subscription

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep premium access until that date.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Falah ad-free? How do you make money?

Subscriptions, full stop. Apps that show ads sell your attention to advertisers — and to do that effectively they need to track you. Falah doesn't do either. We charge a small subscription fee for premium features and that's how the app keeps going.

How accurate are Falah's prayer times?

Prayer times are calculated using the open-source adhan library — the same engine used by many major Muslim apps and mosque schedules worldwide. We support 17+ calculation methods (MWL, ISNA, Egyptian, Umm al-Qura, Karachi, Singapore, Tehran, Jafari, and others) plus high-latitude rules for users above ~48°.

Calculations are astronomical estimates. They will sometimes differ slightly from your local mosque's announced times, particularly near the equinoxes or at extreme latitudes. For obligatory prayers, always defer to your local mosque or scholar.

Which calculation method should I pick?

Falah auto-suggests a method based on your location, but you can override it any time in Settings → Calculation Method. Common picks:

  • Australia / NZ / UK: Muslim World League (MWL) is widely used
  • North America: ISNA
  • Saudi Arabia / Gulf: Umm al-Qura
  • South Asia: Karachi (University of Islamic Sciences)
  • Egypt / North Africa: Egyptian General Authority

If your local mosque follows a specific scholar, ask which method they use and match it in settings.

What does Falah do with my data?

Nothing leaves your device. Location is used only to calculate your local prayer times and Qibla direction — it stays on the phone, never reaches any server we run.

No accounts, no email collection, no analytics SDKs, no advertising IDs. Full privacy policy →

I lost my subscription after switching phones. How do I get it back?

Open Falah → Settings → tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you originally used, your subscription will reactivate within a few seconds.

If that doesn't work, email billing@falahapp.pro with your purchase confirmation email and we'll help you sort it.

Adhan notifications aren't going off — what do I check?

Step through these in order:

  1. Notification permission: iOS Settings → Falah → Notifications → make sure all three (Lock Screen, Notification Centre, Banners) are on. Sounds enabled.
  2. Focus / Do Not Disturb: Falah respects iOS Focus modes. Add Falah as an Allowed app in your Focus settings, or pause Focus during prayer windows.
  3. Battery saver: low-power mode on iOS / battery optimisation on Android can defer notifications. Whitelist Falah in your battery settings.
  4. Background app refresh: needs to be on for prayer times to update beyond the current day.
  5. Notification sound volume: the adhan plays at your media volume, not ringer volume — bump it up before testing.

Still stuck? Email sam@claudeking.org with your phone model, OS version, and the prayer time(s) where you noticed the silence — we usually pinpoint it in one reply.

The Qibla compass keeps spinning — is it broken?

Almost always a magnetic interference issue, not a Falah issue. Try:

  • Step away from laptops, magnetic phone cases, speakers, and metal furniture
  • Re-calibrate by waving your phone in a figure-8 motion (yes, really — both iOS and Android use this)
  • Make sure you're holding the phone flat (face up), not vertical — the compass needs the magnetometer level
  • Close the Compass app if it's open in the background

Falah uses the World Magnetic Model 2025 with declination correction for your latitude — once the compass is steady, the bearing is accurate to within a degree.

How do I report a bug?

Email sam@claudeking.org with:

  • What you were doing when it happened
  • What you expected to happen vs. what actually happened
  • Your phone model and OS version (Settings → General → About on iOS)
  • A screenshot if visible

We read every report and reply within 2 business days. Real bugs usually ship a fix within the next release.
